Positive engagement at break-times is an important element of students’ social and emotional wellbeing at school. We provide opportunities at lunchtime to help support students in the yard, and provide a sense of belonging in our school community. Our lunchtime activities are aimed at different interests:
- Yoga and Mediation
- Team sport games
- Library activities
- Computer activities
- Performing Arts: Senior Dance Club
- Courtyard activities
- Games Room
- Ga Ga Ball Pit
- Ukulele Group
- Beginner & Advance Guitar Group
Year 6 students have the opportunity to train to be a Peer Mediator. These students help conduct restorative chats with junior students in the yard at break times. It helps reinforce our ‘Year 6 Buddy’ program and leadership skills in our senior students.
Senior Dance Club:
We are very lucky to have a talented dance teacher on staff, who runs our Dance Club for Year 5 and 6 students at lunchtimes. Our Senior Dance Club love performing and look forward to the School Concert, WAKAKIRRI Competition, and the Biannual State School Extravaganza.
